Like the Yamas & Niyamas…the Ten Commandments’ are guidelines to Loving God and Others.
John 15..from The Voice Bible
Jesus: “I have loved you as the Father has loved Me. Abide in My Love. Follow My example in obeying the Fathers Commandments and receiving His Love.”
This is why we follow The Others who have come before us…They are One with God, and so can we be One with God…follow the process. No need to recreate the wheel.
The 10 Commandments’ are not punitive; they are guidelines to Love Itself.
The first five of Gods Commandments’ are how to Love God, the next five are how to Love our Neighbors.
Love God
1-Don’t have any other gods before God/Love…don’t be prideful, pompous, etc. Make God/Love first in your life.
2-Don’t worship false idols…don’t put money/work, or possessions’/positions, etc before God/Love.
3-Don’t Blaspheme The Lords Name, don’t curse, use the Lords Name in Vain, don’t talk dirty, etc.
4-Don’t work on the Sabbath. Keep at least one day a week for remembrance and honoring God/Love. Rest, do good things, take delight in Gods gifts.
5-Don’t dishonor your parents. Remember to be thankful.
Love Thy Neighbor
6-Do Not Kill. Don’t murder. Don’t talk bad about others, that too is killing their spirit. Don’t be angry without good cause.
7-Do not commit Adultery…honor your partner…do not lust outside the marriage. Live sexually clean life.
8-Do Not Steal-do not take what is not yours.
9-Bear No False witness. Speak the Truth
10-Do not covert possessions’-do not hoard. Let Go, Let God.
Now that wasn’t so bad, was it…?
Amen,
Michael
